CURRENT ACTIVITIES

Two-day Natue & Photography Camp for students of MES Public School, P.Vemballur, Thrissur
at Chimony Wildlife Camp, Kerala. On 27-28, February 2009


This camp was an attempt by BAF India to educate the students about the basics of Nature Photography
and how their photographic skills can be used to learn about Nature and to spread the message of Nature Conservation.

Sessions:
1. Basics of Photoraphy: Lecture - Demonstration by Dr.Unni Krishnan Pulikka
2. Purpose and Results of Butterfly Gardens - How it helps to promote the idea of Nature Conservation : Dr. George Mathew
3. Wildlife Behaviour: Mr.Prabhu
4.Screening of Documentaries
5.Wildlife Trekking to the Sanctuary

Twenty five students, six teachers and one representative of the Parent-Teachers Association Participated.

The camp, organized with an aim to generate productive discussions on the contemporary photographic practices in various branches of photography, includes classes on the following topics:
1. Aesthetics of Contemporary Photography : Vijayakumar Menon
2.Wildlife Behaviour: Dr.Jaison, KFRI Peechi
3.Dream Camera: Nandakumar Moodadi
4.Contemporary Photography - New Trends: Dr.Unni Krishnan Pulikkal

The camp activities includes field trips, group discussion, discussio on delegates' works etc.

11am -1 pm: Trekking and photography
1pm to 1.30pm: Lunch
1.30pm – 2pm: BAF Introduction
2pm – 2.30pm: Wildlife behavior: Dr.Jaison KFRI Peechi; followed by Q&A
3pm – 3.30pm: Dream Camera: Nandakumar Moodadi; followed by Q&A
4pm – 4.30pm: Tea break
4.30pm – 8pm: Projection and group discussion on delegates’ works.

8pm -8.30pm: Dinner
8.30pm- 9.00pm: Membership matters
9.00pm – 11pm: Royal Photographic Society Projected Image Exhibition
